Common maintenance of my Handpresso Auto machine

The Handpresso Auto and Handcoffee Auto machines heat the water like a kettle, thus the maintenance of the machine is similar to that of your kettle. Pour white vinegar instead of water in the reservoir of the machine and start the cycle to descale then rinse many times under running water to remove the taste of vinegar.
Descale the machine regularly (every 2nd month or every 100 coffees) in order to increase its performance and life.

COFFEE RESULT

My coffee is brewed too slowly

Make sure not to have poured too much water in the reservoir, it may dampen the pod.
Use the water level indicators, stop pouring water as soon as the last but one indicator turns black.

If your machine still does not work after these checks, please contact Handpresso’s customer service.

My coffee is brewed too quickly

Make sure that you are using hard E.S.E. pods and not souple pods.

My coffee is cold

Have you heard the 3 bleeps at the end of the cycle ? You can hear them approx. 2min 30 seconds after having started the machine.

Start the engine of your car. Once the engine is running, the battery has more power and can heat Handpresso Auto machine more rapidly.
Our machines are fitted with a safety device, they automatically turn off after 3min 40 seconds. If the power of your battery is low, the machine will stop after 3min 40 seconds even though the water is not warm enough.
Do not hesitate to restart the machine a second time, after that the coffee will be at the right temperature.
Do not worry if the pressure does not increase during the second cycle.

I cannot open the portafilter

Press the STOP button till the end so the safety ring disappears. As the machine is no longer under pressure, you can open the portafilter.
